Anybody who used to watch Gossip Girl might find it hard to believe that Blake Lively is launching a major lifestyle website, but that day has arrived.
Lively's much-anticipated site, Preserve, has officially launched and the actress admits to readers that she's "intimated" with the launch of her endeavor.
"Sitting down to write this editor's letter has been the hardest thing I've done yet on my Preserve journey," writes Ryan Reynolds' wife, 26, on Preserve.
"I'm more intimidated than I should probably admit. I'm no editor, no artisan, no expert. And certainly no arbiter of what you should buy, wear, or eat."
Humble and gracious as that sounds ... why is she launching this then?
Blake explains that she started the site, which is being viewed by many as a competitor to Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP, because "everyone has a story to tell."
"Here at Preserve, there are people, stories, essays, videos, and goods that hopefully inspire your home, your style, and your tongue," the star added.
"There's expensive stuff. Inexpensive stuff. And everything in between. But their value, that's up to you. We romanticize it, calling it treasure.
At the site, which is "part magazine, part e-commerce hub, [and] part philanthropic endeavor," Blake says "we see their worth on every level."
Lively's website "isn't me." Rather, she wrote, "It's a handful of the most dedicated, soulful, wise, patient people I've ever had the honor of working alongside."
In case Lively's explanation of her new venture was slightly confusing, which it is, the article alongside this month's Blake Lively Vogue cover explains:
"The site will seek out and celebrate people all over America who are making things - food, clothes, pillows, dishes, dining-room tables - with their hands."
Whether anyone goes to it remains an open question.
