Amber Portwood on Prison: I Miss My Family, Starbucks Oct 6th 2012, 21:36 Prison life is hard to adjust to. Not only are one's kids not around when you're behind bars, but as Teen Mom's Amber Portwood laments, ain't no Starbucks up in that piece. Brutal stuff. Four months into her five-year prison sentence, Portwood is opening up about her decision to opt out of a court-ordered rehab stint and take the years instead. Speaking to Dr. Drew Pinsky (of course), she says: "I just miss being able to sleep in. I miss going to Starbucks, driving in my car and listening to music. I know those are material things, but they made me happy." "I miss freedom is what it is ... I miss my family." Amber Portwood has had the chance to speak to Leah, 3, her daughter with Gary Shirley, while she's locked up at the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana.  Dr. Drew says he's trying to arrange an in-person visit for them soon. Leah currently does not know her mom is in prison. That should be a fun conversation. As a former hardass substance abuser, Ambs has to work hard to better herself physically and emotionally, and is grateful Gary can parent their daughter full-time. "She knows she's in no shape to be parenting right now. She knows it," Pinsky explains in his new interview with Amber, which airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. on MTV. For all their problems as a couple, "Gary certainly has stepped up. He has help with in-laws and grandparents but he's not passing off his responsibilities."

Early reviews say it smells like low self-esteem and Chris Brown's musk. Kidding. Although when a follower asked what it smells like, she responded, "ME!!!" Given how close Rihanna and Chris Brown have been lately, that might not be far off. And as for the meaning behind the perfume's name, besides making fans conjure up images of Rihanna nude, she said, "it means u don't need to wear anything else." Good to know. Hopefully she follows the advice of her own tagline and ditches that pink bra and bedsheet for her next promotional campaign. If anyone even buys it, that is. Linda Hogan Responds to DUI Charge, Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Oct 6th 2012, 12:20 It's been a busy, scandalous week for members of the Hogan family. First, A Hulk Hogan sex tape officially went viral. Then, Linda Hogan got arrested for DUI. As we wait for Brooke Hogan to elope, an attorney for the 53-year old ex-wife of the wrestling legend has spoken out on his client's behalf. "She regrets it. She's a mom, so she's embarrassed about it," Raymond Rafool tells The New York Daily News. "She's just thankful it wasn't worse and thankful nobody got hurt. The police were all very nice. It wasn't a scene at all. It was anticlimactic." He also explains that Linda had recently been hospitalized for an e coli infection and her medication may have played a role in the incident. So... this wasn't a response to Hulk's bedroom shenanigans hitting the Internet? "We intentionally want it known we have no comment on the sex tape," Rafool said. "They have moved on to a nice, peaceful place in their relationship. They're working hard to be peaceful co-parents. Even though their kids are adults, they still need their parents." Hulk Hogan, of course, claims the video was made without his consent and he plans on suing.

American Idol Producers Address Nicki/Mariah Feud Oct 6th 2012, 11:32 Without taking sides, and with an eye toward quieting the critics, American Idol producers have released a statement in regard to this week's simmering Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey feud. "This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we've ever had," the producers said in response to Minaj going off on Carey during a taping in Charlotte. "We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can't imagine a better group to find the next American Idol." If reports are true, Carey and Minaj don't agree. The former alleges that the latter threatened her life and has supposedly hired extra security in response. Claiming a lot of the chatter going around is "inaccurate," Idol executives added: "Production is going extremely well today and the judges are focused on finding the best talent here in Baton Rouge."

It's no surprise that Claus Hjelmbak, who was present the night Lohan alleges she was assaulted by Christian LaBella, says "she's not in a good place." However, "it's not because of health issues," he clarified. "She's not in a good place, because people around her just keep throwing her under the bus." According to Hjelmbak, LaBella, who Lohan accused of assault at the W Hotel, didn't know Hjelmbak or Lohan before that night. So how'd he get with their crew? "Lindsay is a sweet girl and is very open and nice when people come over and talk," he explained. "In this case, she thought it was somebody her friends know." All was well until LaBella started taking Lindsay Lohan photos on his cell phone. "She was visibly shaken already at that point. She was shocked. You are in a private space and realize someone has documented the entire night on the phone." After that was when the alleged altercation happened. Hjelmbak said there were no drugs involved, and he was unsure if Lohan had even had "a drink or two." LaBella was arrested for assault, but quickly released due to lack of evidence that a crime was actually committed, drawing a rebuke from Lindsay's rep. Whatever happened that night, how will LiLo bounce back? "Look at her art," Hjelmbak urged fans. "And stop focusing so much on her private life. That would be a big help to her getting back to a really good place." If only she didn't make that near-impossible.

Many Twihards, of course, wouldn't argue with Stewart's description, not after her actions toward Robert Pattinson. It's interesting to note that Marie Claire writer Alice Olins actually calls out Stewart  for being intentionally rebellious, writing in the feature: "The actress is all too aware she's on show, and the 'on-show' Stewart can be brash and provocative. I mean, if I was the new face of Balenciaga and had the pick of the latest collection to wear, I wouldn't have chosen a neoprene vest and grubby-looking jeans for the interview." Zing! The star is also asked for her definition of "cool" and tells the magazine: "It's about being on the edge of something- about not taking the easy route. To be cool is not to be crippled by yourself."

Bruce Davis, Charles Manson Family Member, Paroled After 40 Years in Prison Oct 5th 2012, 18:00 Bruce Davis, a 69-year-old former member of Charles Manson's "family" of murderers, was granted parole Thursday after 40 years in prison. Davis was convicted with the Helter Skelter leader and another man for two murders unrelated to the famous Sharon Tate massacre in 1969. After being rejected the previous 27 times he came up for parole, his release was approved by the California Men's Colony at San Luis Obispo. "It's time for him to go home," said Davis' attorney, Michael Beckman. A parole board determined in 2010 that Davis was ready for release, but then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reversed the decision by executive order. Bruce Davis was convicted of killing Hollywood stuntman Donald "Shorty" Shea, who was ordered dead by Manson because he believed he was "a snitch." Davis was also convicted for his involvement in the murder of musician Gary Hinman, who was killed over money that Manson claimed he owed the Family. During his four decades in prison, Davis has become a born again Christian, ministered to other inmates, abd married a woman he met through the prison ministry. He earned a master's degree and a doctorate in philosophy of religion. Charles Manson was denied parole for the 12th time in April and remains in custody at the Corcoran State Prison in Central California. The 77-year-old will not be eligible for another 15 years.
