John Travolta Denies Cruise Ship Sex Assault Aug 4th 2012, 18:55 John Travolta is finally firing back at Fabian Zanzi, the one-time cruise ship worker who accused the Hollywood legend of sexually assaulting him in 2009. Travolta filed legal documents yesterday claiming the employee is lying. Fabian Zanzi claims Travolta exposed himself during a neck massage aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise, then offered to pay him $12,000 to keep it quiet. Zanzi detailed his salacious allegations in a lawsuit back in June. Travolta's attorney, Marty Singer, responded to the claim, admitting John was on the cruise but denying all the allegations of misconduct against him. Singer notes that Zanzi filed a report with Royal Caribbean over the alleged incident when it happened, but failed to mention any of the sexual details. Travolta, who was also accused of similar actions by two male masseurs this spring, wants the lawsuit dismissed and for Zanzi to pay his legal fees. Separately, Doug Gotterba and Robert Randolph have both alleged sexual relationships with Travolta; he has denied or not responded to all claims. [Photo: WENN.com]

Jersey Shore Season 6 to Premiere October 4 Aug 4th 2012, 18:39 Jersey Shore Season 6 will kick off Thursday, October 4, with a second season of popular spinoff Snooki and JWoww also reportedly picked up by MTV. It's hard to believe this will be the sixth season of debauchery from the gang that first graced our TV screens in early 2010. Brings a tear to your eye. A lot has changed since the early days, most notably Jionni LaValle getting Snooki pregnant and The Situation getting sober following a trip to rehab. What can we expect in Jersey Shore Season 6? Snooki, as we know, is expecting her first child and reportedly living in her own pad next door to the familiar cesspool, while Mike no longer drinks. Right there, you've reduced the number of peeps boozing by a quarter and the overall drama in the house by even more. Will it still be awesome TV? With most of the cast in relationships, there may also be less hooking up. On the flip side, JWoww and Roger may start fights if they don't get smush room dibs. One crazy episode we will get to see play out is Deena Cortese getting arrested in the middle of the day for her drunken disorderliness. Good times. Pauly and Vinny will no doubt take their burgeoning platonic man-love to new heights, new catchphrases will be created, and the Shore Store will be staffed by rich slackers. What do you think? Serena Williams Obliterates Maria Sharapova, Wins Gold Medal Aug 4th 2012, 18:09 Serena Williams can add one more achievement to her Hall of Fame resume: Olympic champion. The 14-time Grand Slam winner won a major tournament on the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon for the second time this summer, destroying top-ranked Maria Sharapova in the Gold Medal match by a score of 6-0, 6-1. It was the most lopsided women's final in Olympic history. Williams lost only 17 games across six matches and let out a scream and even did a little dance upon taking the decisive point. "I don't think I've ever danced like that," she said afterward. "I don't even know where the dance came from." Serena now moves on to the doubles semifinals alongside sister Venus. It's been quite a year for the legendary star. "I was so focused here," she said. "I remember I was serving and I was thinking: 'Serena, this is your best chance to win a gold medal. You're at Wimbledon, you're on grass, you play great on grass, pull it together, just win this.' And that's what I thought about."

NBC Water Polo Malfunction: Nipple Slip Alert! Aug 4th 2012, 17:03 Good ol' NBC. Add this to the list of the network's woes during the 2012 London Olympics: During a women’s water polo battle last week, the network aired a wardrobe malfunction. If you can call it that. In the Spain-U.S. game, a player for the latter had her bathing suit grabbed and yanked underwater, resulting in a nipple slip - or full-on breast - on live TV: This water polo player's wardrobe didn't really malfunction ... it was just forcibly removed. Good times. As NBC's admittedly awesome underwater cameras aired the intense action, they no doubt gave perceptive viewers more than they bargained for, and guaranteed themselves a nice fine from the FCC. Enjoy! For what it's worth: This kind of "defense" is par for the course in water polo, it's just not common for cameras to broadcast it to a billion people worldwide, and ... The game ended in a 9-9 tie. U-S-A! U-S-A!

The judo Gold medalist (in the 78-kilogram division) has overcome an unimaginable past, as her former coach pleaded guilty in federal court in 2007 to charges of illicit sexual conduct. Harrison, 22, was listed in court papers as "K.H." or "the victim." Kayla has been open about the experience, which she says mostly took place on trips around the globe when she was 16. Emotional during the medal ceremony yesterday, she said soon afterward: "Kind of just reflecting back on my life. Everything it's taken to get here, and everything that I've gone through. I'm America's first gold medalist in judo - and always will be." Harrison's ex-coach, Daniel Doyle, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and has been expelled for life from USA Judo. Kayla has clearly moved on successfully, using her past as motivation. For herself and hopefully for others. "Never give up on your dreams," Harrison said on Thursday. "I mean, if I can do it, anybody can do it. Things have happened, but now, my life is a dream. I'm living my dream right now."

Oscar Pistorius, Double Amputee, Advances to 400 Meter Semifinals Aug 4th 2012, 14:31 SPOILER ALERT: Oscar Pistorius made history today at the London Olympics. History that it's hard to believe will ever be duplicated. The South African sprinter, who was born without fibulas and had hid legs amputated below the knee at 11 months old, qualified for the 400 meter semifinals today with a season-best time of 45.44 seconds. Known as The Blade Runner, Pistorius became the first amputee to ever compete in Olympic track. "I've worked for six years ... to get my chance," said the 25-year old, who will run again tomorrow night. "I found myself smiling in the starting block. Which is very rare in the 400 meters." It took many years for Pistorius to receive permission to compete here. Many doctors and experts believe his prosthesis actually give him an advantage because they enable him to do less work as he runs. But many hearings later and Pistorius was given his chance. As you can see, he's making the most of it.

Happy 51st Birthday, President Obama! Aug 4th 2012, 14:29 The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama turns 51 today. We're guessing he could use a vacation, but that it's not an option. Between grappling with a stagnant economy and unemployment rate, widespread global instability and a climate that is very much in flux, there's the small matter of running for re-election in November of this turbulent year. Simply put, he's in the fight of his life. Can Barack get it done!? Recent polls have Obama and Republican Mitt Romney in a tight race for the presidency. Win or lose, this one's going down to the wire this fall. Whichever side of the political spectrum you're on, you have to admit that the man's got a tough job. At the very least, Obama could use some birthday wishes right now. Hang in there, Mr. President. Enjoy your Saturday. But she isn't shrieking over Justin Bieber or worried about the split of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. At least not at the moment. She's celebrating an Olympic Gold Medal! The high school sophomore, who makes Missy Franklin seem over the hill, kicked her way to a victory in the 800-meter freestyle yesterday, winning with a time of 8 minutes, 15.63 seconds. That's an American record. "I didn't really expect gold, but I'll take it," Ledecky said soon after the race, which enabled her to become the second-youngest American woman to win individual Gold. Ledecky said she grew inspired by what Franklin and Michael Phelps accomplished, using those two champions as role models prior to her only event of the Games. "I got really pumped up when I saw that Missy and Michael had really good swims," Katie, a Maryland native, said. "I was ready to scream when I saw Missy's race, but I kept it to myself and used it as extra energy." And, girl, did it ever work.
