Neil Armstrong Dies; First Man on Moon Was 82 Aug 25th 2012, 21:08 Neil Armstrong has died at the age of 82. Modest and quiet, the self-described "nerdy engineer" became a global hero with "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" on July 20, 1969. That one small step was onto the moon, the first time such a thing had ever been done and marking the pinnacle of 20th Century space explorations. His first words after setting foot on the surface will forever be etched in history books and in the memories of those who heard them in a live broadcast. Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin spent nearly three hours walking on the lunar surface, collecting samples, conducting experiments and taking photos. "The sights were simply magnificent, beyond any visual experience that I had ever been exposed to," Armstrong said in an interview years later. In all, 12 American astronauts walked on the moon between 1969 and 1972, but none more famously than the Ohio native on Apollo 11. Armstrong died following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures, a statement from his family said. It didn't say where or when.

Mitt Romney Makes Obama Birth Certificate Joke >>Hollywood

Mitt Romney Makes Obama Birth Certificate Joke Aug 25th 2012, 18:43 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney made a joke about his birth certificate - and took a subtle shot at his opponent in doing so - at a rally Friday. Speaking about his roots in Michigan, where has father was governor, he told a Commerce, Mich., crowd, "No one's ever asked to see my birth certificate." "They know that this is the place that we were born and raised."   Mitt Romney Obama Birth Certificate Joke It was awkward, if nothing else, for Romney to joke about "birther" conspiracies that dogged President Barack Obama since his 2008 White House run. The Obama campaign quickly responded, saying that with the comment, Romney was embracing the extreme elements in the conservative movement. A Romney spokesman said he was "only referencing that Michigan, where he is campaigning today, is the state where he himself was born and raised." Romney's son Matt joked earlier this year about Obama's birth certificate, referring to his dad's tax returns - Mitt's own controversial "missing" documents: "I heard that someone suggest that as soon as President Obama releases his grades, and birth certificate, and a long list of things, then maybe he will." Romney believes Obama was born in the U.S., saying in 2011 that "the man needs to be taken out of office but his citizenship isn't the reason why." President Obama: U.S. Citizen? Election 2012:

Megan Lochte Goes on Racist Rant Against Asians Aug 25th 2012, 16:07 In London this month, Ryan Lochte made serious waves in the pool. And he may do so again as ABC's next Bachelor. But the star athlete's sister made waves of a very different kind during an interview on a Maryland radio station this week, dropping racial epithet after racial epithet against the Chinese. "China was chinked out," she said on a show titled Closing Time. "Everything. Chinks. There was only chinks everywhere... You know how stereotypically they always want to take pictures, they take pictures of everything -- chink chink ... is that where it comes from?"   Megan Lochte Radio Interview The host tried to jump in and suggested Megan change her word choice, but this only served to inspire more ridicule. "'Chink'?" Megan asked. "But like it fits them 'cause they're like 'chink' [pantomines]." Lochte concluded the rant by lumping Japanese and Chinese citizen together, saying: "They're whatever we want them to be, they're Asian." A surveillance camera at the scene of yesterday morning's Empire State Building shooting has capture the moment in which multiple police officers approach alleged murder Jeffrey Johnson and gun him down on the sidewalk. You can see if for yourself here:   Empire State Building Shooting Suspect: Killed on Video According to witnesses, Johnson's approached Steven Ercolino - the account executive at the company that fired Johnson last year - without saying a word. He proceeded to pump numerous bullets into him, even standing over Ercolino's body and continuing to shoot after it was clear the victim was dead. "Steven was a wonderful son. He was very good son and person," Frank Ercolino of Warwick, N.Y., told ABC News. After taking Ercolino's life, Johnson walked away and was followed by a construction worked who warned two NYPD officers. Joan Rivers Wants to Slap "Idiot" Rihanna >>Hollywood

Joan Rivers Wants to Slap "Idiot" Rihanna Aug 25th 2012, 12:34 Despite the candor, honesty and genuine emotion she showed, some of Rihanna's recent confessions to Oprah did not go over well with people. Joan Rivers pointedly criticized her interview Sunday on Oprah's Next Chapter, in which she wept talking about how she still loves Chris Brown. Rivers weighed in on this surprising revelation as only she can ... and Rihanna wasted little time firing back at the outspoken TV personality: Rihanna also told Joan to "slap on some diapers." Nice. Mind you, in the interview, the singer alluded to the fact that Chris is in a relationship with Karrueche Tran, and said they are NOT back together. Rihanna's comments were more about wanting to help Chris with his obvious problems and the pain of losing someone she called her best friend. Is there something more between them? Will there be? Chris' mom Joyce Hawkins might think so, but we're skeptical. Not that it's any of her business regardless, but if they're not even dating again, why is Joan so pissed? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Evan Rachel Wood Clarifies Miley Cyrus Gay Joke Aug 24th 2012, 22:38 Evan Rachel Wood really wishes the world would take a collective chill pill. In reaction to Miley Cyrus' new haircut (perhaps you've heard a thing or two dozen about it?), the actress joked around on Twitter and wrote: "I called it! Miley Cyrus is leaning toward gay." Wood, a known bisexual, then deleted the message after receiving some backlash and posted the following explanation. "Ok. To be clear. I believe you should be able to joke and have a sense of humor about everything. And i hate explaining, but just to be clear, i dont judge people on how they look. Nor do i associate a hair style with sexuality. I myself am bisexual and have always 'joked' about miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation. So i 'joked' when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, i am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke. Period. could care less what gender she was attracted to. But dont hate me for supporting her in whatever She chooses. Its all fine by me. That is all." It seems fine by Cyrus, too. She replied to Wood and simply wrote: "well said! Let's be friends." Everyone can relax now.

Usher Wins Primary Custody of Two Children Aug 24th 2012, 22:16 It's been long and it's been ugly, but for Usher Raymond, it's all been worth it: A judge has awarded the singer primary custody of the two children he shares with ex-wife Tameka Foster. The case has gone back and forth for months, with Foster alleging that Usher was an irresponsible father who took drugs in front of his kids. Accusations of infidelity, inattentiveness and a great deal of name-calling have also been tossed around by both sides. Usher even cried once on the witness stand. But the court has now sided with Usher and the former couple's sons will spend a majority of time with their father. Foster will receive some custodial rights, but it's unclear at the moment just how the arrangement will work. [Photo: WENN.com]

Octomom: Still Celibate, Honest With Kids About Porn Career >>Hollywood

Octomom: Still Celibate, Honest With Kids About Porn Career Aug 24th 2012, 21:10 Octomom may star in an adult film, but she still has standards. Or something. Call it the Nadya Suleman version of standards. “I remain celibate to this day – it’s almost 14 years now – and I touch no one but myself [in the film],” the Octomom: Home Alone star revealed to Celebuzz. This year's Octomom porn film flew in the face of her earlier claims that she would never, ever appear in such immoral films. Why the change of heart? “I had to make money quick,” admits Nadya, whose La Habra, Calif., home is now in foreclosure. “I never wanted to delve into the entertainment industry." "It was the way to make the most money. As a mother of 14, I accepted that I had to eat my words, and I own that ... I’m very proud of the film.” There was also a silver lining ... a sexy one. “It was facing one of my ultimate fears,” Suleman said. “I was always uncomfortable with sexuality in general – so the film was very liberating and empowering.” Ugh. As for what she tells her brood, "they’re totally desensitized ... we have all been through things together, and our experiences allowed all of us to pull out strengths we never realized we possessed. I raise them in total honesty, but I don’t tell them details." Smart move. It's one thing to know your mom made a self-pleasure porno, another thing to sit through it or have her discuss the details. Same goes for her "Sexy Party" single. It's probably for the best they don't actually hear that atrociousness. [Photo: WENN.com]

Prince Harry Nude Pictures: More to Come?! Aug 24th 2012, 20:22 The Prince Harry naked photo scandal may be far from over. Max Clifford, one of the most powerful and prominent publicists in Britain, says he's "been approached by two American girls" claiming to have additional photos and evidence from Harry's wild night in Vegas, according to Us. "I turned them down," Clifford says, however "there's more out there. Stories which wont go down well with the Royal family. It could get worse." How much worse? That remains to be seen. Harry will be in the doghouse regardless, but right now the two nude shots are actually pretty tame. If a deluge of new, crazier photos were to hit the Internet, the nude pic scandal could become a royal pain ... in a manner of speaking of course. British newspaper The Sun ignored a warning from the palace and a regulatory ruling on Friday morning by controversially publishing the pics. Imagine what kind of hullabaloo would go down if there were a full frontal shot of the crown jewels exposed ... think Harry's sweating right now? Prince Harry:

The rumours are extremely hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable." "I've only met David twice ... [the last time] we were out in a group of friends & it was just a normal fun evening out. Just so we are clear I have never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up." Translation from both hotties: It's not true. Now back off. [Photos: WENN.com]

Michael Bloomberg Issues Statement on Empire State Building Shooting >>Hollywood

Michael Bloomberg Issues Statement on Empire State Building Shooting Aug 24th 2012, 19:51 In the wake of this morning's Empire State Building shooting - in which Jeffrey Johnson is accused of killing a former coworker and wounding up to eight bystanders - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has issued a statement. "Earlier this morning, a man who had been fired from his job about a year ago began shooting. He killed one person, at least nine shot. Some may have been accidentally shot by the police," Bloomberg said as a summary, adding: "I ask everyone to keep victims in their thoughts. This is a terrible tragedy, and it would be no doubt more tragic without the heroic acts of the policemen. Every day, the police put their lives on the line to save lives bravely. "NYC is the safest big city in the country, but we are not immune to the national problem of gun violence. This is the beginning of an investigation. Two are dead — the perpetrator and his victim. He does not appear to have a criminal record [at this time]. We're just starting this investigation." Bloomberg is an outspoken supporter of stricter gun control laws. It will be interesting to see what sort of action, if any, he takes in response to this tragedy.
