Sam Claflin Confirmed as Finnick Odair in Catching Fire Aug 22nd 2012, 17:53 The biggest Catching Fire casting rumor of them all has been confirmed: Sam Claflin is in as Finnick Odair. Lionsgate confirmed today what we've suspected for weeks: the former Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Snow White and the Huntsman costar will play a key role in the upcoming Hunger Games sequel. Finnick is one of several previous champions chosen to compete in the 75th annual Hunger Games. He's cocky and well-sculpted and initially a nemesis for Katniss, but readers of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel series are aware that Jennifer Lawrence's character will come to see him differently as the Quarter Quell progresses. Claflin is the latest name announced for the wildly-anticipated big screen follow-up. We also know, for example, that Stephanie Leigh Schlund will come on board as Cashmere.
