A little bit of romance and a whole lot of drama took place south of the border on Bachelor in Paradise Season 2 Episode 5 last night.
At the center of both? Public Enemy #1 Joe Bailey.
Let's break down exactly what that entailed ...
Picking up where last week left off, Bachelor in Paradise Season 2 Episode 5, Joe continued to raise (lower?) the bar of terrible behavior.
Or maybe he's a victim of editing. It's unclear.
You don't have to watch Bachelor in Paradise online to know that he would not be the first in this franchise to be thrown under the bus.
Whether manipulating footage or people directly, the producers pull out all the stops to craft a good storyline, usually involving a villain.
Right now, Joe Bailey is that villain.
Is he being set up or doing it to himself? We'll leave that up to you to decide, but he did not come off looking too good on Sunday night.
The episode began with sweet, widowed single mother Juelia giving him a rose, unaware that he was just waiting until Samantha came.
Samantha, a contestant on Chris Soules' season of The Bachelor, is a bit of a mystery to viewers, but Joe was interested apparently.
And suspiciously sure that she would be showing up ... which she did, and asked Joe on a date. Everyone was very, very confused.
Juelia was a bit blindsided, as well. Just wait until she sees the results of that date - a People magazine "hot bodies" photo shoot.
"I think he got excited in more ways than one," Samantha joked, and you may cringe all you like, but they clearly hit it off right away.
Juelia was very upset and the rest of the gang started to think that Joe and Samantha had been in communication prior to Mexico.
Finally, he admitted as much, and after Juelia told him she would tell Samantha everything, he apologized for his behavior as well.
Will it be enough or will he be shown the door? We'll have to wait until tonight to see as Samantha and Juelia went to go have a talk.
Joe's take on this? "I don't want to lose her," he said, meaning Samantha, "over some stupid drama with ... f--k, what's her name?"
Pretty great stuff. Meanwhile in Paradise ...
- Carly and Kirk remain inseparable.
- Ashley S. and Dan had been inseparable, until this week when he began to question if their personalities were compatible.
- J.J. got a rose from Clare, then got asked on a date by newcomer Megan, a contestant on Chris Soules' Bachelor season.
- We still heart Tenley Molzahn.
