Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin have been friends for years.
But the singer and the model appeared to take their relationship far out of the friend zone in early 2015 when Bieber shared a photo of the two kissing.
This game of tonsil hockey came after numerous denials, mostly by Baldwin, that she and Bieber were up to anything tawdry.
“We're just friends. I've known him for a very long time, since I was about 13,” she told E! News in early 2015, adding that people simply "assume" things because they are the opposite sex.
Still... should we have seen this romantic entanglement coming? Probably.

Baldwin and Bieber celebrated the end of 2014 in Turks and Caicos. The former didn't even seem to mind the latter's dumb hair color here.

Hailey and Justin spent New Years together in 2014 as well, snapping this selfie in the process. But their tongues remained in their mouths.
6. You're 21!
Hailey was one of many friends on hand to help Bieber celebrate his 21st birthday. But she was one of the only ones to wrap her arms around him for a picture.
