Who is the Highest Paid Actor in Hollywood? Jul 4th 2012, 11:29 Perhaps this will cheer Tom Cruise up a bit. In the news for his divorce from Katie Holmes, the thespian has been named by Forbes as the highest paid actor of the past year. Between May 2011 and May 2012, he made an incredible $75 million. And because Holmes signed a prenup, Cruise will keep almost all of it! Cruise can mostly thank Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol for the major take home, as it has grossed $700 million worldwide, enabling the star to easily outdistance Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Sandler in these rankings. Last month, Kristen Stewart was named the best paid actress in Hollywood. Here is a look at the top five actors, salary-wise, in the industry from May 2011 through May 2012: Tom Cruise: $75 million Leonardo DiCaprio: $38 million Adam Sandler: $37 million Dwayne Johnson: $36 million Ben Stiller: $33 million
