The X Factor Opens with Tribute to Sandy Hook Elementary Victims Dec 20th 2012, 16:38 Before Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens and Fifth Harmony battled it out on The X Factor finale last night, the episode opened with a powerful tribute to the victims of last week's Newtown, CT massacre. "Words cannot describe what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School last week," Simon Cowell said at the outset, adding: "We're all deeply saddened by the tragedy, and our hearts right now go out to the families. You'll always be in our prayers, and you'll always be in our hearts, and this is our tribute to you."
