The producers of The Bachelor, which kicks off its 17th season tonight, are filing their second lawsuit in two years against reality TV spoiler guru Reality Steve.
Every winter, The Bachelor spoilers run rampant. Every summer, The Bachelorette spoilers do the same. Somehow, some way, Steve gets it done.
How? No one knows. But ABC is not happy about it.
NZK Productions and Horizon Alternative Television claim the site's creator, Stephen Carbone, is "unlawfully obtaining" info about the show's upcoming season.
He does this, according to court documents, by soliciting details from cast and crew members who are contractually obligated to keep their mouths shut.
As a result, he's spoiling Sean Lowe's season. This is largely the same lawsuit that was filed against him before the prior season, starring Brad Womack.
In response, Reality Steve posted this statement:
"I spoil their show every season, they're pissed about it, so this is how they respond. What's funny in all this is, by suing me, they're admitting that my spoilers are correct."
"Do you honestly think if I gave away the wrong ending, and wrong eliminations, and wrong details about the dates that they would sue me? Of course not."
Carbone insists he did not and does not break laws at any point.
Of course, he also has never revealed the source of his intel.
The plaintiffs are seeking $75,000 in damages for intentional interference with contractual relations, as well as $10,000 for violating last year's settlement.
Steve and the producers settled the previous suit out of court; it's unclear whether anything changed or why they've decided to come after him again.
