Matt Lauer: Katie Couric "Very Attractive" (We're Talking 9 Out of 10 Hotness)! Jun 20th 2013, 16:29 In an interview with Howard Stern that is sure to make his wife extremely pleased, Today host Matt Lauer says Katie Couric is "very attractive." Like 9-out-of-10 hot. Maybe even 10-out-of-10! Guess that on-air chemistry that produced years and years of ratings wins - ones that seem like a distant memory for maligned Matt now - was real. "She's a very attractive woman, not only physically but her personality," Lauer gushed of his former co-host. "If she's a 9 or 10 physically, she's a 14 overall." "Because ... she's just got a great personality. She's fun." We have no doubt. But down boy. Cold shower time. All kidding aside, Today is now behind ABC's Good Morning America after a decade-plus of dominance, and Lauer's popularity has been in decline. Between a top exec leaving, Lauer being blamed by some publicly and the treatment of Ann Curry leading to major scorn ... it's been a huge mess. Gone are the salad days, when Lauer anchored with Couric from 1994-2006. The ratings back then were as hot as he apparently thinks she is. "We had a good and easy chemistry," he said, though he insists it never went beyond friendship, he insists. Ditto his relationship with Meredith Vieira. "I had a relationship with Meredith Vieira where I constantly wanted to hug her," he says of the longtime Today staple, called her "beloved" by the staff. We can just see Annette Roque getting the doghouse ready now.
