Aaryn Gries and her racist comments and cohorts have become the dominant narrative on this controversial, but compelling season of Big Brother.
In what's become a fascinating, voyeuristic look into overt racism in America, there is no editing or context to explain away Aaryn Gries and company.
The only question is how low they will go.
Sunday night, Gries and GinaMarie Zimmerman started "talking black" at Candice Stewart and asking when her "blackness" is going to come out.
This was the latest of many examples that have nauseated viewers.
As the Big Brother racism scandal escalates on CBS, the network is issuing disclaimers and the women of The Talk are weighing in as well.
Julie Chen, who also host Big Brother, has been particularly vocal:
"My heart is pounding. Am I the only one who feels so enraged?" Chen asked. "This is the third time I've watched that clip, and it does not get any easier."
"I think it shows us all that in 2013, race is still a deeply personal issue and it is so extremely hurtful."
"And unless you have ever been on the receiving issue end of it, you simply do not know what it's like to walk a mile in someone's shoes."
"Aaryn, in my opinion, has no clue what it's like to be on the receiving end. I think she's ignorant, I think she's young, and I think she's immature."
"I hope she watches that and is as appalled as we all are."
The Talk co-hosts said she probably won't be, sadly, with Aisha Tyler saying that Aaryn Gries has no idea what is awaiting her outside the house.
Like losing her modeling contract, for example, and being removed from representing a petite modeling search contest. Or being generally despised.
Twitter is a-buzz with calls to boot Aaryn off the show (or to boycott the show), but that's not going to happen, and CBS has made that very clear.
While distancing itself from Gries' comments, CBS says this is a show where the contestants are cut off from real life and have no privacy 24/7.
Perhaps it is that insular little universe that makes Gries' true colors come out. Whatever it is, she's the talk of the TV world, whether she knows it or not.
