There may not be even a slim chance of it happening, but Britney Spears votes for James Franco to fill the Fifty Shades of Grey void left by Charlie Hunnam.
She may not be alone in that assessment, either.
Asked about the Fifty Shades of Grey movie and who should play Christian Grey in a recent interview with London's KIIS FM, the "Work Bitch" singer said:
"I love James Franco! I think he's really cool."
So does the girl who Franco helped get back at her ex with a cute Facebook photo. That was awesome. So Britney likely can count on her support.
As for why Spears is such a big fan of his?
James did sing a unique rendition of Britney's "Everytime" in Spring Breakers, where his character also resembled Kevin Federline Circa 2004, so ...
Anyway, James won't get the part. Nor will Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer, sadly for their respective fan bases. But it's fun to think about still.
As for who is actually in the running?
The latest names bandied about as contenders are Luke Bracey, Francois Arnaud, Alexander Skarsgard, Theo James, Christian Cooke and Jamie Dornan.
None of those actors hail from the U.S., or are particularly well known in America, with the exception of Skarsgard, who stars on HBO's True Blood.
