Selena Gomez is doing her part for the home team. The Grand Prairie, Texas, native, will headline the Dallas Cowboys' annual Thanksgiving Day halftime show.
"I'm so excited to be here," Gomez told the press at an official announcement on Sunday. "I'm from Texas, so I'm a little nervous, I'm not going to lie."
"But I'm very honored and I hope that we come in - me, my dancers and my band - and we can give Texas a really good show and I make them proud."
Selena Gomez also posted the good news about the gig on Instagram (above), writing, "Feels SO good to be home. Hi Dallas. I hope I make TX proud."
"I don't think you can be from Texas and not watch a Cowboys Thanksgiving game."
As a Texas native and fan, the singer, 21, added that she and her family members always watch America's Team when she's home for the holidays.
The former Disney starlet hinted that fans "should expect something new with a twist of old," noting that "we had to make it special for my hometown."
The "Come & Get It" singer's November 28 performance will also kick off the Salvation Army's 123rd annual Red Kettle campaign, its iconic holiday drive.
So while rooting on her favorite NFL team against the Oakland Raiders, she will also be helping provide food, shelter and toys for families in need.
