Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult broke up last year but then continued to make appearances together and make out in public.
Back in April, Lawrence was even spotted wearing an engagement ring. Needless to say, these two don't seem to have a very good understanding of how breaking up works.
Now, however, it seems they might be well and truly done, as a source claims that Nicholas has ended their relationship because of Jen's "exploded ego." (In other words: he's jelly.)
"Jen is still desperately trying to get back with Nick after he broke up with her," says a source. "They're still talking but Nicholas is moving on. He hates how in love with fame Jen is, and he told her he hates dating an A-list actress."
Yeah, she's way too Hollywood, man. Odd complaint, considering they met while filming a freakin' X-Men movie, but whatever.
Jen is reportedly distraught by the fact that Nicholas has already moved on and has been spotted canoodling with actress Riley Keough.
"Riley is into acting in indies and not playing the fame game," says the insider. "Nic dated Riley while he and Jen were on their last break too and he's ready to give the relationship another shot. [Nicholas] wants a more low-key girlfriend and Riley fits the bill.
Sure, we can see how it might be tough to date someone as talented and gorgeous and wealthy as Jen. But somehow, we think most guys would be able to swallow their pride:
