Hollywood insiders say Jared Leto will play the Joker in Suicide Squad, while The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie will take on the role of Harley Quinn.
Sources say Leto became the studio's first choice for the Joker after Ryan Gosling backed out of a multi-film deal. As you might have guessed, some fans have been quite vocal in their belief that Leto's not up to the task.
Of course, there was widespread skepticism when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight, and Ledger went on to win a posthumous Oscar for his performance.
Leto reportedly has yet to reach a deal with DC, whereas Robbie is said to have officially signed on for her role. If the rumors are true, it looks we're in store for some seriously sexy supervillains.
