Miley Cyrus is doing a lot more than talk the walk.
She walked the walk last night, attending the amfAR New York Inspiration Gala with Tyler Ford.
The singer described Ford on Instagram as follows:
"Meet Tyler, a 24 year old living in New York City, and my date for @amfar tonight!!! Tyler is a queer, biracial, agender person, whose pronouns are they/them/theirs."
Cyrus recently created the Happy Hippie Foundation, an organization meant to assist young members of the LGBT community.
She's also opened up a great deal about her own sexuality, telling Paper Magazine that she's bisexual and honoring Caitlyn Jenner with some unique artwork.
Added Miley on Instagram:
"Tyler shares about their identity, experiences and hopes saying: 'My whole life, I was led to believe that there were only two genders. I thought I had to shrink myself to fit into a box that was never going to contain me.
"It took years for me to find words for my gender identity, and to feel comfortable expressing myself as I am."
Cyrus and Andy Cohen were honored at the gala for their contributions towards AIDS awareness.
On Monday, meanwhile, Cyrus launched "#InstaPride," a movement meant highlight on Instagram the stories of transgender people.
How come? Miley also told Paper that she's so lucky to be in her position in life that she feels obligated to help others
