Jelani Maraj, the 37-year-old brother of Nicki Minaj, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old.
Maraj was arraigned last night and released after posting $100,000 bail.
Nicki has stated in the past that she's extremely close with her older brother. The rapper even shelled out $30,000 to pay for his wedding back in August.
The night of his nuptials, Nicki posted the above photo of herself with Jelani, along with the following caption:
"I would cross the ocean for [Jelani]. I love my brother so much man. Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk.
"May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brother smile."
The news of Jelani's arrest comes on the heels of reports that Nicki is developing a sitcom based on her family and her childhood.
It's not known if the show will feature a character based on Jelani.
Nicki is said to be standing by her brother, and she reportedly plans on paying for his legal defense.
2016 may find Nicki spending a lot of time in court. The rapper was sued by ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels just last month, and the case has yet to be settled.
