The Monkees Tour Announced; Group to Reunite This Fall Aug 8th 2012, 21:07 The Monkees will go on tour together for the first time since singer Davy Jones died of a heart attack in February, the group announced today. The 12-date fall U.S. tour kicks off in November and will include all three surviving Monkees: Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork. The trek marks the first time in 15 years that Nesmith will join the group on tour; the last time he joined The Monkees was back in 1997. According to Rolling Stone, the set list will span The Monkees' career, from their TV series to their movie "Head" to more obscure album tracks. "I never really left," says Nesmith of his time with the group. "It is a part of my youth that is always active in my thought and part of my overall work." "It stays in a special place, but like things in the past it fades in and out in relevance to activities that are current. Getting together with old friends and acquaintances can be very stimulating and fun and even inspiring to me." "We did some good work together and I am always interested in the right time and the right place to reconnect and play." The Monkees plan to salute the late Davy Jones in a multimedia show with rare photographs and videos throughout the tour.
