The Man From U.N.C.L.E: Henry Cavill to Replace Tom Cruise? May 29th 2013, 16:15 60's Spy culture came back hard in the late 90's/early 2000's, with film adaptations of Mission: Impossible and Charlie's Angels, Pierce Brosnan re-introducing Bond to Generation Y, and Mike Myers spoofing the whole thing in Austin Powers. The one property that never got a reboot off the ground was The Man From U.N.C.L.E, which you may have never heard of precisely because the reboot never got off the ground. Well now, the 1960s spy show is being adapted, with Henry Cavill in talks to take the lead role of secret agent Napoleon Solo. Guy Ritchie will direct the adaptation, with Tom Cruise originally attached to star. Cruise recently left, however, due to scheduling conflicts with Mission: Impossible 5. Armie Hammer will co-star as  Illya Kuryakin, another agent who attempts to take down the evil organization T.H.R.U.S.T. along with Solo. No release date or production schedule is yet established for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
