James Spader Cast as Villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron Aug 29th 2013, 15:27, by Hilton Hater Another day, another piece of major movie news. With Ben Affleck cast as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel, and Bryan Cranston reportedly on board as Lex Luthor, Marvel announced today that James Spader will play the main villain in the wildly anticipated Avengers sequel. The veteran actor will portray Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Spader is a three-time Emmy Award winner who will anchor The Blacklist on NBC this fall. Not much is known about the upcoming blockbuster, except for its release date (May 1, 2015) and that Joss Whedon will direct and write the sequel, with all main cast members expected to reprise their beloved roles.
