Lamar Odom will be represented in his DUI case by powerhouse defense attorney Robert Shapiro, a man with a famous connection to Odom's in-laws.
If you missed it, Odom was arrested for DUI early Friday morning in L.A.
Police believe he was under the influence of both drugs and booze, though the contents of his system are not known as he refused all chemical tests.
Shapiro is known for plea bargaining, and will likely try to do so here.
Experts say the most likely scenario is that the NBA star pleads no contest to one count of DUI and gets probation, plus alcohol education counseling.
Since he refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test, he will also get his driver's license suspended for a year - a mandatory effect of such a refusal.
As for Robert Shapiro's connections to the Kardashians?
Kris Jenner has employed his high-powered services multiple times before, most recently Rob Kardashian Jr.'s criminal battery and theft case.
Kris' late husband, Robert Kardashian, Jr., was also an attorney and served as Shapiro's co-counsel in the infamous O.J. Simpson murder case.
O.J. walked, and Kris Jenner, who was best friends with the NFL star's slain ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, reportedly believed O.J. was guilty as sin.
As far as Odom is concerned, it's not clear if he's willing to get clean, or listening to estranged wife Khloe Kardashian's directive to get help or get out.
