Diehard fans of Duck Dynasty are planning to display their loyalty by holding a day of appreciation for Phil Robertson at their local Chick-fil-A franchises.
According to the Chick-Phil-A Day Facebook page, Phil Robertson fans are encouraged to wear their "Duck Commander or camouflage gear" to lunch.
The January 21 event planned to "stand for free speech" and "sit for good food" has over 24,000 likes and 60,000 listed attendees since its announcement.
Robertson has been the target of a media firestorm since making comments on gays and gay sex in a GQ magazine interview earlier this month.
The scandal led to his "indefinite suspension" from A&E.
Despite the apparent appropriateness of the location, the Southern-based fast food chain is already working to distance itself from Chick-Phil-A Day.
Reps have adamantly stated that the upcoming day in honor of the Duck Dynasty patriarch is "in no way sponsored by or affiliated with Chick-fil-A."
Chick-fil-A entered the national debate on same-sex marriage in 2012 after CEO Dan Cathy said in an interview that he firmly believes in traditional marriage.
His remarks led to strong backlash and protests against the chain, followed by support from conservative backers who organized Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.
Former Arkansas governor and Fox News contributor Mike Huckabee was one prominent supporter of Chick-fil-A Day and Cathy's stance on same sex marriage.
Former Alaska governor and Fox News contributor Sarah Palin was also a fan, and likely will attend Chick-Phil-A Day too, even though she has no clue what he even said.
Of course, in 2012, Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day was shortly followed by Same Sex Kiss Day, a nationwide "kiss-in" for gay and lesbian couples to protest the chain.
