Having decided she is SO over staying in at night and baking cookies, Selena Gomez has dumped Taylor Swift and sought the company of a new confidant:
Katy Perry! Says a source close to the pop star:
"Katy has been helping Selena ... she's doing everything she can to help her right now as far as being a shoulder to cry on, someone to talk to that will understand."
"She's like a big sister to her, a non-judgmental big sister. Katy doesn't push her opinions on Selena, but whenever Selena needs her, she is there for her."
Non-judgmental = the opposite of Taylor Swift?
Reading between the lines, it looks like Selena wants a female pal who doesn't care if she's back together with Justin Bieber ... and who's more fun.
Not to mention, "Katy has a lot of life experience as far as fame, relationships and dealing with players," the source says of Perry's own history.
"Compared to Russell Brand or John Mayer, Justin is still a kid. Those guys are real womanizers so Katy knows exactly what Selena is dealing with."
This is true. John Mayer has probed more holes than Katy would probably like to admit, and on his worst day, Justin is a punk who isn't even semi-hard.
Selena has been making other changes, including firing her parents, Brian and Mandy Teefey, as her managers in favor of Katy's manager Bradford Cobb.
Clearly, Taylor isn't the only one on the chopping block.
Cobb helped propel Katy to superstardom and Selena is hoping he will do the same for her ... while at the same time bringing her closer to her new BFF.
Also on the chopping block? Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who she famously unfollowed after Coachella after one or both got too close to Justin Bieber.
So high school. All of these people.
Sources say she's quashed that beef and there's no bad blood between Selena and the sisters, but it looks like she's content to be in Katy's presence now.
