Rumors that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are headed for divorce have been circulating for months now, but the couple has continued making public appearances and posting online photos together throughout their alleged marital difficulties.
Now, however, an anonymous source says the charade is over, and Cannon has moved in with his grandparents in preparation for a formal separation announcement that may come as early as this week.
While the cause of the split is unknown, sources close to the couple claim that there was no infidelity involved and both parties mutually agreed to a trial separation.
Back in March, Carey was reportedly upset when Cannon discussed his sex life during an interview with Howard Stern.
Carey was said to be outraged that Cannon publicly compared her to his previous girlfriends, although it is not known if the incident was a major cause of the couple's current troubles.
