19 Kids and Counting's Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard will welcome their first child early next year, and if all goes according to plan, they will do so at home.
The cute newlyweds, who you can watch 19 Kids and Counting online to see tie the knot on this week's episode, are looking forward to meeting their son.
They have until March, which means a lot of preparation time, and they're making the most of it, setting up registries and getting their ducks in a row.
On Friday, the pregnant star and her hubby dropped by Giggle in N.Y.C. to get an idea of what they'd like to have on hand when they welcome #BabyDilly.
In addition to Jill Duggar's baby registry, the couple, who are reportedly bound by a Covenant marriage, also revealed their labor and delivery plans.
"We're taking Bradley [Method] birth classes right now," said Derick.
What does that entail, exactly? Allow his lovely wife to explain ...
"Yeah, [it's] husband-coached childbirth," added Jill, "so that he can know how to help me in labor and in pregnancy ... and that's what I want the most."
"[For] him to be able to know what to do when that comes."
The Arkansas natives grew up within 45 minutes of each other, but didn't meet until late 2011. Jill recalled when Derick stopped by while caroling with a church group, and not long after, "Derick contacted my dad and asked if he would be a prayer partner during his two-year term in Nepal."
Jill said they will "have a midwife at home" when she's ready, "and Derick will be my coach, as I like to say, so [he'll be] helping me through the process."
As a trained midwife herself, she should be well prepared.
Still, you can never be too prepared. According to the Bradley Method's official site, classes on the topic of delivering your baby generally last for 12 weeks
It's to teach both parents how to be involved in the process. No word if they'll also make Jana Duggar come over and do all the work in this case too.
Just kidding. But behind every joke is a little bit of truth.
Part of the Bradley Method involves relaxation and breathing techniques to help deal with pain instead of drugs or epidurals "unless absolutely necessary."
Epidurals may not be flat-out banned in the Duggar family, but they definitely tend to shy away from them, along with these other things and practices ...
The Duggar parents often accompany their children on dates in order to maintain their "accountability" and "keep things from going in the wrong direction," per Jim Bob. The girls are fine with this, as being alone with men puts them in grave "moral danger." When the parents aren't available, their older siblings will often tag along, making every date a group date and a family affair.
