Angelina Jolie's reputation has seen its share of ups and downs over the years, but lately the press has had nothing but good things to say about Mrs. Pitt.
After all, the girl re-defined "killin' it" in 2014: She got married to Brad Pitt, scored her first box office hit in years with Maleficent, and she's currently enjoying some major Oscar buzz based on her second directorial effort, Unbroken.
She won't manage to escape the year without some major embarrassment, however, as an email that was obtained by the Sony hackers that was released today doesn't exactly portray Angie in a flattering light.
The email was written by A-list producer Scott Rudin, and it concerns Angelina's complaints about Sony hiring director David Fincher for their Steve Jobs biopic.
Jolie had apparently hoped Fincher would sign on to her Cleopatra remake, and she decided to make things difficult for Sony.
In response, Rudin composed an email in which he's quite clear about his displeasure with Jolie's diva-like demands:
"YOU BETTER SHUT ANGIE DOWN BEFORE SHE MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR DAVID TO DO JOBS," Rudin writes (yes, in all caps).
Referring to Jolie's planned Ancient Egypt epic, Rudin says, "I'm not remotely interested in presiding over a $180m ego bath that we both know will be the career-defining debacle for both of us."
"We will end up the laughingstock of our industry and we will deserve it, which is so clearly where this is headed that I cannot believe we are still wasting our time with it."
He goes on to refer to Jolie as a "minimally talented spoiled brat," and claims that she's "burned too many bridges" to continue getting consistent acting work in Hollywood.
Yikes. Good thing Brad and Angelina signed a prenup. If Rudin's assessment of Angie is accurate (and his 30-plus years in the industry suggest that it is), Brad may be the only one with a career soon.
