Last night on The Mentalist Season 7 Episode 7, the investigation got personal after Lisbon learned that her younger brother Jimmy is sought as a witness.
Why? And what transpired from there?
The Mentalist Season 7 Episode 7 began with the revelation that Jimmy is a material witness in a the beating death of Nathan Barnes, the son of a judge.
Jimmy fled, and will thus be arrested.
As a result, Jane and Lisbon both head out to find him at her parents' old house in Chicago, a place Teresa hasn't been since her father passed away.
There, Jane is unexpectedly accosted in Lisbon's old bedroom by a man who is certainly not her brother, and who proceeds to escape out the window.
Lisbon's brother Stan doesn't know where Jimmy is, and gives her a hard time for being AWOL lately. Finally, our heroes are able to track down Jimmy.
After sitting down with him, Jane and Lisbon manage to get into the poker game that Jimmy and the victim were in, and rig up cameras there beforehand.
Teresa then learns that Stan was roughed up back home by a loan shark - the assailant at her parent's house - and that Jimmy was covering for him.
At the poker game, Teresa and Jane spot the killer, Charlie McGuiness, and Jane convinces the mob boss running the game that McGuiness is cheating.
At that point, Charlie turns himself in.
We learn that he beat Nathan to death after he believed he had slept with his fiancee, when ironically and in reality, he just borrowed the wrong shirt.
Ending this installment on a positive note, Jane and Lisbon attend the family party with Lisbon's brothers, and she finally tells Jane that she loves him!
