It's official: Kate Middleton is overdue and the world's royal watchers are growing seriously impatient.
This shouldn't come as any great surprise, as a similar situation occurred before the birth of Prince George and the British press (not exactly a mellow lot to begin with), began to lose its cool as Kate passed her due date by nearly a week.
As the new royal arrival continues to keep the world waiting, it seems the only one who isn't losing her cool is the Duchess herself.
"She's in good spirits," a source tells Us Weekly. "Everyone is! Although it would be fair to say also eager for the time to come."
We guess it's not all that surprising that Kate is a patient gal. After all, look how much time she spent waiting for Prince William to propose. Zing!
Seriously though, William is on paternity leave, the press is camped out outside of the hospital, and the celebrity gossip world is on pins and needles, dying to find out if the spare to the heir will be a prince or a princess.
We all want new royalty, and we want it ASAP! Unfortunately, Kate is far more chill than the rest of us, and she reportedly plans to put off inducement for as long as possible.
"[Doctors] have been in touch with Kate and talked about which day which suit her best to go in and be induced if the baby doesn't arrive in the next couple of days," an insider tells the Telegraph.
Yes, the Duchess won't even begin talking about being induced until Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.
Meanwhile the rest of the world is left to twiddle its thumbs and continue placing bets on what Kate will name the kid.
You'd think someone who's taken so many etiquette classes wouldn't be so rude as to keep the world waiting like this. We expected more from you, Kate!
