After floundering for several years, Ben Affleck's career is back on track in a way that few could have imagined.
Unfortunately, the Oscar winner's personal life has been the topic of plenty of unwanted tabloid attention in recent months.
Reports of Affleck and Jennifer Garner calling it quits have been circulating since late last year, and the rumors heated up this week following news that the couple has been living apart for over a month.
On Sunday, Affleck was spotted partying in Vegas, while Garner spent the holiday weekend with friends in New York.
Sources say Ben's drinking and gambling have been taking a toll on his marriage for years, and Jen has finally had enough.
According to Radar Online, Ben and Jen are officially through, and while she was the one to pull the plug, he's been pushing for a public announcement for the sake of his reputation:
"He's told Jen that he wants the official statement to come out before their ten-year wedding anniversary on June 29," says one source,
We're guessing Ben wants to be able to booze, bet and bed whomever he pleases without having to worry about looking like a cad.
Rumors of Affleck cheating with Emily Ratajkowski on the set of Gone Girl first appeared online in late 2014, and insiders say Garner couldn't have cared less, as she and Ben have basically been living separate lives for well over a year.
Divorce is always a bummer, but we imagine some alone time with one of the world's hottest models makes for a decent consolation prize. Just sayin'.
