Earlier today, we reported that Demi Lovato's dog, Buddy, died in some sort of horrific accident on Tuesday.
Now, sources have revealed to TMZ that the dog was viciously "torn to shreds" by coyotes, and Demi was the one who made the grim discovery.
Lovato is reported to be absolutely inconsolable in the wake of the traumatic incident.
She canceled an appearance on Good Morning America that was scheduled for Thursday, and she posted a message to her Instagram page asking fans for privacy at this difficult time:
"We are absolutely heartbroken to be writing this but Wilmer and I are devastated to inform you that we lost our little angel Buddy last Sunday," Demi wrote.
"He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident and though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle so with that, together we our staying strong."
The tragedy brings to mind the incident last year in which Miley Cyrus' dog was killed by a coyote.
It's an all-too-common occurrence in certain parts of the Southwest, and we're sure both singers would like to remind their fans living in that part of the country to always keep a careful on small pets when they're outside.
