Eva Mendes lost her older brother Carlos to cancer on April 17.
He was 53.
Carlos was diagnosed with throat cancer two years ago, and according to his younger brother Carlo, "fought with all his might" before passing.
Eva shared the black and white photo above of herself with Carlos to Instagram three weeks ago.
In the caption, she included only a black heart emoji.
Carlo made the announcement on Instagram earlier today.
He posted information about the funeral, which took place on Tuesday.
In the caption, he wrote an ode to his older brother:
"To remember who my brother was and the impact he left on us.
"The amazing person he was, the funny charming genius comedian creative hot tempered crazy calm person that he was.
"I still can't believe this has happened.
"I'm crying as I write this and I have no idea how to cope with him being gone but I want to thank you all who have reached out to me and believe me when I say your messages make me feel a little bit better.
"My life will never be the same without him. Thank you all."
Eva has still not posted to social media about her brother's passing, as the actress is said to be taking a break from the spotlight.
However, we learned earlier this month that that the Hitch star is pregnant with her second child with boyfriend Ryan Gosling.
