Chris Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, is irate over efforts to revoke his client's probation on grounds that his community service reports are BS.
Geragos called the L.A. County DA's actions "shameful and a disgrace."
The lawyer incredulously says that "In essence, it calls everyone a liar in the Richmond Police Department and the Virginia Probation Department."
Geragos says he will seek sanctions from the District Attorney's Office for filing a "frivolous, scurrilous and frankly defamatory motion" against Chris Brown.
Is it though?
The L.A. County District Attorney certainly doesn't think so, claiming Brown violated his probation by submitting bogus community service records.
Bryan T. Norwood, the Chief of Police in Richmond, Va., wrote a letter to the judge on September 14, claiming CB did 202 days of community service.
Only 180 were required, so that sounded great. Chris frequently worked at Tappahannock Children's Center, where his mom was once a director.
There, the R&B star did odd jobs such as painting, washing windows, waxing floors, cutting grass and picking up trash ... according to the reports.
This is where it gets very, very fuzzy.
A detective who had been assigned to oversee Brown's community service was told she did not have to continue monitoring at the Children's Center.
The times, location and types of duty were provided by Chris Brown's mother, he was told ... and the D.A. claims Geragos was in on this as well.
According to the D.A., Geragos "instructed" the lawyer for the Richmond P.D. on how to "handle" investigators' questions about Chris' community service.
Geragos allegedly told the probation officer that a court order instructed Chris' situation be removed from the probation department and transferred to the Richmond police chief.
TMZ reports that there was no such order.
Meanwhile, the Administrator of the Children's Center allegedly tried coaching the floor waxing guy on what to say to the D.A.'s office, but he refused to lie.
He told investigators that he was the only one who waxed floors in the past three years. Chris claims in docs he waxed the floors on some occasions.
The judge was suspicious of all this when the community service documents were filed with the court last November, and an investigation was launched.
The investigation found NO "credible, competent or verifiable evidence" that Chris Brown did the 180 days community service, a condition of his probation.
There's no way Chris could have performed community service on some of the days he listed, sources say, because he was out of the U.S. doing concerts.
In one case, he was reportedly on a private jet to Cancun at the time.
Brown was sentenced to five years' probation after pleading guilty to assault (on Rihanna) in 2009. If his probation is revoked, he could be in deep.
In addition to the community service scam, the D.A. is also saying there are other possible probation violations since the past four years, including:
- Throwing that chair through a window at GMA
- The Frank Ocean fight at the recording studio
- Chris Brown testing positive for marijuana
- Brown failing to obtain a travel permit
- Stealing a fan's phone in Miami
