Bryan Singer is featured in the latest issue of Out magazine, telling the magazine of his sexual orientation:
"I'm quite bisexual."
The interview with the X-Men director was conducted prior to Michael Egan accusing Singer of sexually abusing him as a child, an allegation that was followed a British teenager firing similar charges at Singer.
"In the last five years, I've had two girlfriends - one for two years, one for eight months," says Singer, who denies all sexual abuse accusations. "In the end, it's probably going to be a guy. I emotionally lean towards male relationships, so I'm happy to say I'm gay, too, if it's a one-syllable, easy answer."
Singer says he never felt a need to come out because his orientation was never "tearing me up inside."
But that doesn't mean he isn't thrilled for those who have made loud public statements, such as Ellen Page, with whom Singer has worked on the X-Men franchise.
"She just seemed so much happier and relaxed and talkative to the point where we all said, 'Ellen, you seem to be kind of glowing,'" Singer tells the magazine.
Page, meanwhile, has referred to the charges against Singer as "super disturbing."
