Nicholas Wig is officially a Dumbest Criminals Hall of Fame candidate after breaking into a house and deciding to check Facebook during the robbery.
Not on his phone, mind you, but on the computer of James Wood, whose stole cash, credit cards, a watch and phone Wig was in the process of stealing.
Then he didn't even log out! Nick is not you'd call stealthy at robbing people.
When Wood returned to find his home ransacked, "I started to panic," the Minnesota homeowner said. "Then I noticed he had pulled up his Facebook profile."
Wig's session was still in progress, so Wood posted using Wig's profile.
Saying Wig had burglarized his home, he even shared his phone number to see if someone would call with information. Wig texted him later that day.
"I replied 'you left a few things at my house last night, how can I get them back to you,'" Wood recalls, agreeing to meet with Wig later that night.
Wood believes Wig was under the impression he would give return some clothes he had left at his home in exchange for a recycled phone Wig stolen.
Yes, the awesome robber somehow left articles of clothing behind too.
When Wood identified Wig, via his Facebook profile picture, cops arrested him. He now faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine if convicted.
"World's dumbest criminal," Wood said after the arrest was made.
We'd agree ... although these folks might beg to differ?
Devin Langford, a drunk man in custody, tried to urinate out of the rear passenger side window of a moving police car because he was drunk. It did not go as planned.
