Piper and Alex who?!?
A different lesbian couple is currently stealing all the Orange is the New Black headlines.
Back in May, Lauren Morelli wrote an essay for Identities.Mic in which she admitted that writing for the show's main character, Piper, and her ex-girlfriend, Alex, made her come to grips with her own sexuality.
"I was so deep in my own self-doubt that I constantly felt like a fraud," Morelli wrote for the site. "I was sure it was bleeding into my writing. How could it not? I was married to a man, but I wasn't straight."
Morelli and her husband have filed for divorced amidst this realization and the former is now in a relationship with Samira Wiley, who plays Poussey on the Netflix hit.
They were spotted on the Emmy Awards red carpet in late August, though news of this courtship truly went viral over the weekend after Wiley posted images of the couple on Instagram.
"I found a mouthpiece for my own desires and a glimmer of what my future could look like," Morelli also wrote in the spring of her job penning words for Taylor Schilling's Piper.
Her divorce from her husband appears to be amicable.
Orange is the New Black Season 3, meanwhile, will hit Netflix some time in 2015.
