For many fans of 19 Kids and Counting, Anna Duggar is something of a role model.
Anna married Josh Duggar in 2008, and she's lived her life in accordance with traditional Christian family values ever since.
Josh and Anna welcomed their third child last year, and seem to be following in Josh's parents' footsteps with regard to raising a large family in accordance with the beliefs of Christian fundamentalism.
In a video that was posted to YouTube last week, however, Anna admits that for much of her life she simply went through the motions of being a believer without truly having faith in the tenets of her church:
"I remember being in Sunday school," Anna says in the clip above. "I had a great Sunday school teacher who wanted to make sure all of us knew about Jesus and were gonna spend eternity in heaven and she said, 'How many of you guys have given your heart to Jesus?'"
"Every hand went up except mine...I felt like, 'I'm not in the club.'"
"I appreciated that Jesus had died for me, but I didn't want him to have control of my life...I didn't think I needed help, because I was a pretty good person. I prayed the prayer so that I could fit in and be like everyone else in Sunday school."
"If a Christian is supposed to read the Bible, then I'm gonna read my Bible every day, so that I can look like a Christian."

"As time went by, I knew I wasn't saved, but what would people at church say if they knew I was just acting like a Christian?"
Anna says she wasn't fully converted until later in life when she nearly lost her life in a car accident:
"If we had died, I know where I would be. In my heart, I was like, 'I would be in hell right now if I had died.'"
Some Duggar fans might take issue with Anna essentially being frightened into a life of faith, but most will likely commend her for speaking so candidly about her beliefs.
In the past, Anna and Josh have generated controversy as a result of their ultra-conservative views, so Anna's admission of doubt will likely catch some off-guard. However, the video's conclusion is sure to serve as a crowd-pleaser for the Duggars' demographic.
