Last night's True Tori Season 2 Episode 6 saw the perpetually embattled Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott desperate to move on from the tumult of the past.
Could they actually accomplish that? Or would they keep running into the same old obstacles - and/or new stumbling blocks - that derailed their potential progress?
When True Tori Season 2 Episode 6 kicked off, Dean is trying to get auditions for work and has been asked to join a hockey league with some fellow dads.
Can she handle him being away from the kids? Does she want him near the kids? It doesn't seem like she's happy with a single thing this guy does.
Quickly, things went south, and not just because of Tori's fake boobs, although those things did cause the star a heck of a lot of stress this week as well.
Yes, this was a major focal point. More on that shortly.
If you watch True Tori online, you know this show is typically all about Dean's cheating on her with Emily Goodhand, and recently, their former spouses.
No Mary Jo Eustace or Charlie Shanian this week, though. It was all about Tori, Dean and their incredibly messed up dynamic right here on the home front.
Dean actually lands a guest spot on CSI, giving him eight days of work. She's excited for him, at least at the onset, saying that this is what he's meant to do.
Tori's doctor informs her that her fake boobs are rupturing inside her and wants to take them out, put smaller ones in and do a lift later. Or not replace them.
Tori says she's scared of what it would look like if she had no implants and the doctor says it would be like pancakes. Dean is supportive of her here.
Dean says he would "love the s--t out of her pancake titties" because he loves her and wants her healthy, and that's what it's all about in life, right?
This was a great, sweet moment for them. But it was short lived.
Tori and Dean share a touching moment. So much to say about these two.
When they go to a pumpkin patch to get pumpkins for Halloween, Dean sort of bonks one of the kids' heads with a pumpkin and Tori sort of freaks out.
She is annoyed that he doesn't watch them carefully enough. Dean is annoyed that Tori is creating a lot of drama, making a big deal out of everything.
When her friend Jess suggests a girls' weekend away, Tori starts to have a panic attack about leaving the kids with Dean. Jess thinks she feels guilty.
Dean says she's over-responsible, and needs to give him the opportunity to take the kids and show her he can do it, not just look for things he does wrong.
Later, Dean breaks down, saying he's trying so hard but it's never enough, as she's picking him apart. Guy is sick of being yelled at and micro-managed.
Dean says that it's everything in his life that's handled this way and if anything doesn't go exactly like she wants it, she starts to dig into why it happened.
He feels like a raw nerve that's being struck, time after time.
After Dean says he's done for the day, rips off his mic and walks off as she asks if he's still mad at her. We're gonna go out on a limb and guess that's a yes.
It's no surprise we've heard reports of Dean quitting True Tori.
Even if McDermott wants to make it work, as he claims, there's something about being emasculated on camera week in and week out that must get old.
