It's a busy month for athletes acting like a**holes.
First, Floyd Mayweather defeated Manny Pacquiao. He didn't do anything objectionable in the Fight of the Century, but he's still Floyd and still exists.
Then, Tom Brady was suspended for his alleged role in Deflategate. Now, the WNBA's Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson have been suspended!
They will both sit seven games without pay for their domestic violence arrests last month.
Newlyweds Griner, who plays for Phoenix Mercury, and Johnson, who plays for the Tulsa Shock, will begin their suspensions in June at the beginning of the WNBA season.
Being suspended for seven games is a hefty punishment, considering there are only 34 games in a season. That's roughly 20 percent of the season.
If you missed it, Brittney and Glory got into a domestic dispute, and an ugly one, at their Phoenix home, which resulted the arrest of both athletes.
At the time, they were engaged. One may be presumed that if this brawl might have been enough for them to call its quits, but not the case.
Two weeks later, wedding bells were ringing for Brittney and Glory.
The WNBA President Laurel Richie claims she worked with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, several abuse counselors, and domestic violence groups to reach her decision to suspend the players.
For the most part, they are off the hook with the law at least, although after being arrested, Griner is required to complete domestic violence counseling.
The basketball star claims she is "committed to making positive changes and I plan to use what I have learned to set a good example and help make a difference in the world around me."
Here's hoping.
