Kenya Moore's rocky dating life has been back in the spotlight since she admitted the man she met on Millionaire Matchmaker is... MARRIED.
Her matchmaker, Patti Stanger, isn't taking the blame.
Earlier this week, it came out that Kenya Moore was dating a married man, James Freeman. The two met on Stanger's show, Millionaire Matchmaker.
However, shortly after they met and started dating, Freeman got hitched to another woman.
Stanger has been the target of a lot of criticism for hooking Kenya up with a married dude. But she swears, "He was single when he shot the show, which was in November."
As Patti told Extra, Freeman didn't do anything wrong: "They basically dated. They broke up."
She adds, "He did not date his old girlfriend and marry her. Wendy Williams got that wrong. He met a new girl in January and he ended up marrying her. It was very fast."
The Millionaire Matchmaker star and executive producer claims Freeman was a good choice at the time.
"He was marriage-minded. The bottom line is long-distance relationships are tough," she explained.
On one hand, it seems like Patti is defending Freeman. But it looks like she is mostly saving face, trying to prove that her matchmaking business isn't some televised version of Ashley Madison.
Her May 15 tweet said, "I love you @usweekly but I never defended james! I'm sure he played both sides of the st. as men often do! @KenyaMoore long distance sucks!"
So she might not be defending Freeman, but she is claiming he was definitely single.
Yesterday, Moore told Extra that she was absolutely certain her new boyfriend was still playing the field while they were dating.
She stated, "That's for sure. We did the show in November and there's evidence of me being out -- and birthday dinners together -- my birthday was at the end of January, so that's pretty clear, but it is what it is."
Moore, 44, was still dating Freeman when the March 22 episode of Millionaire Matchmaker hit the screen.
She swooned on social media about how happy she was:
"Sometimes you can spend your whole life looking for Prince Charming when a King arrives. Thank you @pattistanger and @cynthiabailey10 and my fans for your love and support and desire for my happiness. #matchmaker #KingJames #FriendsFirst #MillionaireMatchmaker."
But just this week, Moore posted on Instagram: "Unfortunately, I just learned today that the man I met and fell in love with from Millionaire Matchmaker was married a week after the show aired."
"I am astounded and devastated to have learned of this news via social media as opposed to from him directly."
Rumors circulated that Kenya faked her relationship with Freeman for publicity. And this might not be far fetched. Her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars have accused Kenya of faking relationships in the past.
In any case, life is moving on for The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, and she seems to have a positive attitude. "I'm not the first person that's been lied to by a man, and I'm not the last," Moore stated to Extra.
She continued, "I'm in this fight and I'm a warrior and I just think life trails on, that's it... You gotta kiss some frogs to find a prince, things happen and it's just how you react to it that determines your future and I just think that this is just a bump in the road."
Moore is willing to hold out for the right guy who is "truthful, forthcoming, and is who he is," she said.
This isn't the first time Moore has been accused of dating a married man. In 2014, Kenya claimed she was dating an "African Prince." Rumor has it that prince is named Tonye Cole... and he is definitely married.
