On last night's Teen Mom OG reunion show, things got really real, as Farrah Abraham confronted her critics and defended her decisions.
Both the troubled Teen Mom and her own mom stood by Farrah's career as a porn star and stripper, pointing out that thousands of single moms are forced to resort to sex work in order to provide for their children.
Of course, that argument doesn't really work in this case, as Farrah is very well paid by MTV and frequently boasts about her wealth and her wildly expensive status symbol purchases on social media, but she put together several coherent sentences in a row, and we applaud her for that.
Unfortunately, Farrah chose to live-tweet the whole thing, and she didn't make nearly as much sense on social media.
"For those of you who wish I did porn I'm sorry I let you down," Farrah tweeted. "Thank you to all of those who watch & talk about my #celebritysextape"
Farrah loves to explain the difference between sex tapes and porn, but hopefully we can lay this out just one more time and be done with it:
Farrah starred in a porn, and that makes her a porn star. There's no shame it, and she can claim to be a retired porn star, if she's really hung up her clear heels for good, but the so-called "Farrah Abraham sex tape" was a porn, not a "celebrity sex tape."
How do we know? Well for one thing, a bunch of adult film professionals assembled to film two people having sex so that the footage could then be sold to the general public. That's called making a porn.
Whether or not the Kim Kardashian sex tape was leaked to the public, it starred and was shot by two amateurs, neither of whom has ever worked in the mainstream porn industry.
Farrah's partner in her sex tape was James Deen, star of more than 2,000 (no joke) adult films. The footage was shot by a professional camera crew. She signed a contract with Vivid Entertainment before getting down to business.
Hell, there was probably a craft services table with tiny cheese cubes in the corner.
The point is, Farrah starred in a porn, but she'll accuse you of slut shaming if you call her a porn star. In reality, however, she's the one who acts as though porn stardom is something to be ashamed of.
It's the constant lying and justifying that she should be ashamed of, not the porn itself. (Although, those fake O-faces of hers were pretty embarrassing.)
