The ailing Bobbi Kristina Brown and her "husband" Nick Gordon were never actually married, at least according to her father, singer Bobby Brown.
As Bobby maintains a vigil by daughter Bobbi Kristina's bedside following her hospitalization Saturday, there is one thing his lawyer wants to clear up:
Nick Gordon is not her husband, nor has he ever been.
Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon were married, but reportedly estranged at the time of her tragic hospitalization. We hope she is able to beat the odds and recover.

"Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon," Bobby Brown's lawyer said in the wake of a slew of rumors surrounding their relationship.
This flies in the face of Bobbi Kristina's words, as she announced to the world that she wed Gordon and referred to him as an "incredible husband" last year.
However, it would help explain why Nick is reportedly banned from seeing Bobbi in the hospital by her family, which would be tough to pull off against a legal spouse.
Since then, he's only been sighted outside the building.
There have been reports that Bobbi Kristina's family members filed for a restraining order against Gordon, but this claim has not been substantiated.
Gordon was raised as part of the Brown-Whitney Houston household, and has been referred to as Bobbi's stepbrother, though he was never legally adopted.
In any case, Bobby Brown's claim comes just days after Gordon, whose relationship with the 21-year-old has long raised eyebrows, found her unconscious.
He and friend Max Lomas, who has been reported as Bobbi Kristina's drug dealer, discovered her face down in a bathtub at her Roswell, Georgia, home.
There are many questions still unanswered, obviously.
What resulted in Bobbi Kristina's near-drowning? Were there drugs involved? Did she and Nick have a huge falling out before the tragic incident?
Most importantly, will she ever regain consciousness?
Bobby's lawyer, Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen, says his office is "currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina."
"We continue to request privacy," Bobby Brown said.
"Please allow for our family to deal with this matter," he urged in a new statement, "and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time."
Whitney Houston used to be a major star. She may have had the best voice on the planet. These days? She's a sad, seemingly unhealthy version of herself.
Let there be no doubt: this is the best rendition of The Star Spangled Banner in the history of professional sports. Take in Whitney Houston's masterpiece now.
The night before she passed away, Whitney Houston went out with friends in Los Angeles. This, therefore, will forever be known as her final singing performance.
