Vanessa Bryant: I'm No Gold Digger! Aug 18th 2012, 19:36 Vanessa Bryant may not be a gold-digging, domineering basketball wife ... but she gave a quote earlier this week that certainly came off that way. Regarding husband Kobe Bryant, she told New York Magazine, "I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can't win championships." "If you're sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year." Yeah. Probably not the best word choice. Vanessa is now setting the record straight, clarifying to TMZ that she loves and supports Kobe, no matter what. "I'm sad to hear that some of the comments in my New York Magazine interview are being misconstrued and taken out of context," says Vanessa Bryant. "I have been with Kobe for 13 years. I accepted his marriage proposal PRIOR to him winning any of his 5 championships with his teammates." "I have and will continue to support my husband’s dreams. For anyone to think otherwise is wrong. It is not about being married to a ‘winner.'" "It is about our sacrifice as a family." Kobe and Vanessa got engaged in 2000, the year he won his first NBA title, so you can't argue with her there, and she took him back after he allegedly cheated more than once. Basically you gotta cut the female Bryant some slack ... right? Vanessa Bryant: Digging for gold?

Now, a rundown of the week that was at The Hollywood Gossip: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux got engaged! Congratulations! Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson was arrested for head-butting his wife. Evelyn Lozada filed to divorce him after just 41 days of marriage. He was also cut by the Dolphins, as seen on Hard Knocks (above). Lots of people apparently wanted to see Paul Ryan shirtless ... ... and learn about the GOP V.P. nominee's wife Janna Ryan. Miley Cyrus cut her hair VERY short, as you can see below ... Miles went on to defend her wild, crazy new look as all about self love. Dave Mustaine said President Obama staged the Colorado shooting. Rihanna was more concerned for Chris Brown than for herself. Katrina Darling, Kate Middleton's cousin, graces Playboy's cover. Lady Gaga slammed PETA after the group had called her out. Al Roker took a shot at Matt Lauer over Ann Curry's firing. The Robert Pattinson Daily Show visit was classy and hilarious. Kristen Stewart looks to be out of any Snow White sequel. Some believe she's taking an unfair share of the blame. Rashida Jones joked that John Travolta should come out. Sophia Bush told gay marriage opponents to eff themselves. A guy took this Loch Ness Monster photo (supposedly).   McKayla Maroney, Teammates on Letterman McKayla Maroney is not impressed ... by just about anything! Astonishingly, Kim Kardashian bikini pictures came out! Also astonishingly, she's still battling Kris Humphries. Anderson Cooper's BF Ben Maisani allegedly cheated. Dog the Bounty Hunter was denied entry to the UK. George Zimmerman is broke, and seeking help.   Spice Girls - London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony The Spice Girls reunited for the Olympics closing ceremony in London. One Direction's performance also brought the house down Sunday. Russell Brand delivered a memorable performance of his very own. Hope Solo accused Maksim Chmerkovskiy of hitting her on DWTS. Kelsey Grammer has an interesting theory about his Emmy snub. Farrah Abraham's new song may be the worst of all time:   Farrah Abraham - On My Own Vanessa Bryant only marries winners. You got that there, Kobe? Ryan Lochte trademarking his dumb catchphrase? Um, Jeah! Jenelle Evans ripped Snooki a new one ... for like no reason. MSNBC's Touré Accuses Mitt Romney of "Niggerization" of President Obama Aug 18th 2012, 12:47 MSNBC's Touré, co-host of the network's roundtable show The Cycle, used the n-word to describe Mitt Romney's campaign and its tactics against President Obama. Touré insists recent comments by Romney were racially charged - somewhat ironic in that Romney was responding to a comment Joe Biden made - that Romney will "put y'all back in chains" - that some felt was racially charged. "This is what an angry and desperate presidency looks like," Romney said. "Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago." Touré reacted strongly to this, calling it "niggerization" ...   Toure: Romney Engaging in 'Niggerization' of Obama "That really bothered me," he said. "You notice he says 'anger' twice. He's really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man." "This is part of the playbook against Obama. The otherization, he's not like us. I know it's a heavy thing to say. I don't say it lightly ... But this is niggerization. You are not one of us, and that you are like the scary black man who we've been trained to fear." Really, Touré?! As his co-host points out, it's a bit of a stretch to accuse the GOP of racism when he described Biden's more controversial comment using the word "angry." While Mitt Romney's faux outrage may be laughable, given Republicans' use of equally hard-nosed and divisive political tactics, Touré is pushing it here. Or is he? Joey Kovar Death Attributed to Viagra, Cocaine and Alcohol Aug 18th 2012, 12:44 New details surrounding the death of Joey Kovar have been released. The corpse of this 29-year old former Real World cast member was found inside a Chicago home yesterday morning, and law enforcement officials are now telling TMZ he passed away from a dangerous mixture of Viagra, cocaine and alcohol. Insiders allege that Kovar went over to a friend's house around midnight on Thursday and told her he had been taking cocaine. He then asked her to help him find more of the drug. The woman, identified by TMZ as Stacey Achterhof, turned Kovar down and asked him to crash at her place instead. He obeyed, popped some Viagra and messed around a bit with his pal. The next morning, Stacey woke up and found Kovar's body, with blood streaming out of the blood and nose. Authorities - who took note of Joey's "blackened" eyes - believe Kovar technically died from an aneurysm brought on by his ingestion of these substances. We'll know more for certain when toxicology results are released in a few weeks.

Their crime? Calling out President Vladimir Putin during a March performance in Russia. Now, various stars and musicians are responding to the punishment, with one well-known band vowing to never play in Russia again. Here is a rundown of reactions: Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney: "FYI. We will never being playing a show in Russia as long as they imprison innocent musicians for speaking their minds peacefully." Mischa Barton: "I can't believe sentencing #pussyriot to2 yrs in jail.as someone who lived in Moscow and has filmed& seen inside the jails my heart goes out." Kate Walsh: "What a massive disappointment for Russia: imprisoning pussyriot?? Shame on you." Bill Maher: "Solidarity shout-out to #PussyRiot! I signed a petition in support! Then I found out it was a band," he tweeted, along with, "I see #MittRomney and #PaulRyan have taken to calling themselves America's Comeback Team. Cuz #PussyRiot was taken." Paul McCartney: "I and many others like me who believe in free speech will do everything in our power to support you and the idea of artistic freedom."

Taylor Swift Debuts Ad for Wonderstruck Enchanted Aug 17th 2012, 21:46 Taylor Swift is a busy young woman. She's dating (Conor Kennedy), she's writing songs about other people she's dated (Chord Overstreet?), she's releasing a new album in October and she's also the face of a new fragrance, "Wonderstruck Enchanted." She's featured in a brand new ad for it here: “I’m wearing this amazing gown that I loved as soon as I put it on," Swift tells People of the poster. "It’s a classic look, and that’s been my recent style obsession. Anything classic and timeless.” The color scheme is appropriate, too: Taylor's next studio album will be titled "Red." But back to the perfume's name... “Wonderstruck is about that moment when you instantly feel a connection to someone, but then there’s that feeling of being completely enamored - enchanted - when you know a little more about that someone and still feel that strong connection.” The fragrance comes out in September and will retail for $49.50-$59.50, with body lotion available for $29.

Farrah Abraham "On My Own" Music Video: Even Worse Than Her First Song?! Aug 17th 2012, 21:16 Farrah Abraham may have outdone herself, and we don't mean that in a good way. We almost feel we owe the Teen Mom star an apology for debating whether her debut single, "Finally Getting Up From Rock Bottom" was the worst song ever. Turns out it may not even be the worst song by this one aspiring artist! Our bad! Farrah Abraham - On My Own Overproduced and auto-tuned to an incomprehensible degree, "On My Own" is tough to understand, both visually and audibly. Do so at your own risk. We don't know Farrah Abraham personally, and we're sure she's a very nice young woman and a good mother. But music may not be an ideal career path. The video is basically a montage of amateur footage of Farrah and daughter Sophia, who's a real cutie, but the whole thing is bizarre to say the least. FYI, "On My Own" corresponds to the chapter by the same name in Farrah's memoir, My Teenage Dream Ended. So if you've read it, that's cool maybe. Four-time swimming gold medalist Missy Franklin recently celebrated her historic efforts in London by getting a new tattoo. "All inked up! AHH! Can't believe it! My one and only!" the 17-year-old tweeted. Missy Franklin's tattoo, obviously, is of ... Did Franklin's parents not only approve, but accompany her to get it? JEAH! "Hahaha yes they did!" the minor tweeted when asked, by fellow swimmer Matt McLean, if her parents had to go with. "They were very professional :)" Missy says this was a one-shot deal, and "never something I ever thought I would do," but it has "so meaning to it and it is really something that you have to earn." Not sure you have to earn a tattoo as much as a gold medal, but fair enough. Maybe her teammate can get a matching one for the next Ryan Lochte-Missy Franklin Twitter pic.

Last night, for instance, the actor spoke to MTV exclusively about his new movie, Cosmopolis. But friends of Pattinson are reportedly doing all the talking necessary when it comes to his ex/estranged girlfriend, as Us Weekly claims pals are encouraging Robert to resist temptation. Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge, among others close to the handsome star, have been "begging Rob to end it for good," a Pattinson insider tells the tabloid. "They think she will hurt Rob again." Some, of course, believe that Stewart is getting an unfair rap in this mess. Yes, she was wrong. But might she also have just made a single mistake and truly be in love with Robert?
