George Zimmerman Verdict: NOT GUILTY of Murder, Manslaughter in Trayvon Martin Case >>Hollywood

Following a weeks-long trial and a case that has captivated the nation for a year and a half, a Sanford, Fla., jury has reached a verdict in the George Zimmerman case:
Not guilty of murder or manslaughter.
They reached a verdict after deliberating all day Saturday. Late in the evening, jurors asked for clarification on the instructions regarding manslaughter.
At about 6 p.m., lawyers for both sides appeared in court where Judge Debra Nelson conferred with them about their question and then recessed court.
Just before 10 p.m., they reached a verdict and acquitted Zimmerman of all charges in the controversial case - one ultimately filled with reasonable doubt.
A conviction would mean jurors rejected Zimmerman's claim he killed in self defense, and "intentionally committed an act or acts that caused the death" of Martin.
Ultimately, they determined he was justified under the letter of the law.
Whether those laws are flawed is a different topic altogether, but after 16 hours of deliberations, jurors felt that the state's case was not strong enough.
Unable to establish what happened in the confrontation that left Martin dead, prosecutors could not prove murder or manslaughter beyond a reasonable doubt.
Persuading jurors of who was the aggressor that night was the primary goal of both sides, and the defense seemed to prevail throughout the trial.
The shouts on the 911 calls and whether it was Martin or Zimmerman heard screaming for help was a point of contention, both disputed and inconclusive.
Experts also testified that Zimmerman's bloody head injuries could have been caused by blunt contact with concrete, which seemed to bolster his case.

One-time America's Next Top Model star Renee Alway was arrested following a SIX-HOUR STANDOFF with police, according to reports. Why?
Alway, who finished third on ANTM Cycle 8, was arrested on June 28 in Palm Springs, Calif., and slapped with a ton of charges ... to say the least.
She was busted for suspicion of burglary, fraud, possession of narcotics, forged bills, and committing a felony while on bail (!) to name just a few.
Police were called about a suspicious female lurking around a house that was supposed to be vacant; there, they found Alway in the garage with a gun.
Officers had reason to believe another person, a male, was also in the house, and also packing heat, so they reportedly called in the SWAT team.
No one else was found inside after their sweep, but the 27-year-old Alway was booked and remains behind bars now, unable to post $150,000 bail.
As for why she was out on bail the first time, Renee Alway was arrested back on June 2 for possession of drug paraphernalia, petty theft, and fraud.

This local news segment offers the bear necessities when it comes to warding off a giant ursine creature in the woods. Or any other living thing for that matter.
Following a story about a man who faced down a bear, reporter Julie Tremmel of Providence, R.I.'s local NBC affiliate WJAR did a segment on bear safety.
Her intentions were no doubt good, but the end result was at least a solid 7 or 8 on the unintentionally comedy meter. Watch below and see for yourself:

We interrupt what has become regularly scheduled Justin Bieber scandal news to bring you an update on the singer that has nothing to do with speeding or urinating:
He's coming out with a new perfume! And we have your first look at its initial commercial!
Coming off "Someday" and his Justin Bieber Girlfriend perfume, this fragrance will be titled "The Key."
It won't be available until later this summer, though an exact date has not yet been released.
The official press release for the scent says that The Key is "energetic with a sexy splash of sparkling freshness."
It adds:
