Anthony Cumia, Opie & Anthony Co-Host, Fired Over "Racially-Charged" Twitter Remarks >>Hollywood

Anthony Cumia, the co-host of popular SirusXM radio show Opie & Anthony, was fired late Thursday for what the company deemed "racially-charged" remarks on Twitter.
The controversy began earlier in the week when Cumia Tweeted responses to an incident in Times Square.
He wrote that a black woman was angry he had a taken photos of her, referring to Cumia as a "white motherf-cker" and punching him more than once.
In subsequent Tweets about the confrontation, Cumia described this woman "pig face worthless" and also used some VERY hard language against women.
"This was an animal. I shoulda smashed it's face," he wrote.
He also wrote that he hoped the lady - who he referred to as a "c--t" and a "savage" in other messages - would get shot.
In its statement Friday, SiriusXM explained its decision to let Cumia go via the following statement:
"Those remarks and postings are abhorrent to SiriusXM, and his behavior is wholly inconsistent with what SiriusXM represents."
In response, Cumia proved to be the latest person who doesn't comprehend the First Amendment.
"Sirius decided to cave and fire me," he Tweeted yesterday. Welcome to bizarre world. Fired for s - - - that wasn't even on the air & wasn't illegal."

While the hot dogs are being eaten and the patriotic cocktails consumed, you're probably going to want some tunes to groove to at your Fourth of July cookout.
Some musicians and bands out there are proudly shouting "Hey, we got your back!" Or, more appropriately, they've got your entertainment.
Over 75 songs exist which contain the word "firework" or "fireworks" in the lyrics, though not many of them are actually about fireworks. Or the Fourth of July.
Meh. Semantics, right?

It's been 18 years since Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum (with help from Randy Quaid) saved the world from aliens in the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day, a film which has grossed more than $800 million worldwide.
With talks of a sequel in the works, and with several of the original film's principal cast set to reprise their roles, we thought we'd take a walk down memory lane to see where the cast of Independence Day is now.
Will Smith is still making movies, though none have grossed as much worldwide as Independence Day. He WAS nominated for two Oscars, though, so that doesn't suck.
Will Smith, of course, has gone on to great success in his post-pilot days, earning two Oscar nominations and making headlines for his daughter Willow Smith's behavior.
Bill Pullman, meanwhile, really, really loves playing Presidents.
His First Lady, Mary McDonnell, was most recently the first lady of the major crimes unit on TNT's Major Crimes, a spinoff of The Closer. (Which featured Kyra Sedgwick... which probably means Mary McDonnell has met Kevin Bacon.)
Jeff Goldblum and Judd Hirsch also found new roles among the crime dramas, appearing in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Numb3rs, respectively.
Of the principal cast, the only one who hasn't found fame, or infamy (looking at you crazy pants Randy Quaid) is Ross Bagley, who played Vivica A. Fox's son D

We may be hearing less and less from Rob Kardashian these days.
But the sock mogul still found a way to get our attention this weekend.
"Happy I got my son with me for the 4th tomorrow!!" Rob Tweeted late Thursday. "Can't wait to watch fireworks with my little man! Hope everyone is safe!
Wait... what?!?
Rob Kardashian is not thin. He and his large body mass are behind the wheel in this photograph.
After letting followers react in shock to the news, Rob deleted the original post and added a new one that said he was just kidding.
"Those who know me know I play and I do NOT have a son," the reluctant Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote. "Y'all got my mama emailing me asking if I have a son lol goodness hahaha. GOODnight."
Well played... we guess?
Rob, of course, has stayed out of the spotlight over the last few weeks, ever since leaving Europe prior to sister Kim Kardashian getting married to Kanye West on May 24.
