Anthony Cumia, the co-host of popular SirusXM radio show Opie & Anthony, was fired late Thursday for what the company deemed "racially-charged" remarks on Twitter.
The controversy began earlier in the week when Cumia Tweeted responses to an incident in Times Square.
He wrote that a black woman was angry he had a taken photos of her, referring to Cumia as a "white motherf-cker" and punching him more than once.

In subsequent Tweets about the confrontation, Cumia described this woman "pig face worthless" and also used some VERY hard language against women.
"This was an animal. I shoulda smashed it's face," he wrote.
He also wrote that he hoped the lady - who he referred to as a "c--t" and a "savage" in other messages - would get shot.
In its statement Friday, SiriusXM explained its decision to let Cumia go via the following statement:
"Those remarks and postings are abhorrent to SiriusXM, and his behavior is wholly inconsistent with what SiriusXM represents."
In response, Cumia proved to be the latest person who doesn't comprehend the First Amendment.
"Sirius decided to cave and fire me," he Tweeted yesterday. Welcome to bizarre world. Fired for s - - - that wasn't even on the air & wasn't illegal."
