Last month, Alfie Allen - who plays Theon/Reek/The Unluckiest SOB in Westeros - gave an interview in which he revealed that we're in store for more jaw-dropping cruelty from Ramsay Bolton this season.
On Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 5, Ramsay orchestrated a Reek-union of sorts in advance of the Dread Wedding and we're already having nightmares about what lies in store for poor Sansa.
But before the vicious mind games at Winterfell got underway, the episode opened with a different kind of unwelcome reminder by focusing on the fallout from last week's attack by the Sons of the Harpy.
We learned that Barristan is dead, Grey Worm is in rough shape, and Dany lost not only a loyal companion last week, but also an important part of her peace of mind.
At the start of "Kill the Boy," Dany is once again becoming overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being Khaleesi. She hasn't exactly been corrupted by great power, as she's still loyal to her ideals, but her desire to do right by her lowliest subjects has led her to some seriously questionable decisions.
And sometimes, those decisions involve torching dudes with dragon fire. Even in dark times, being the Khaleesi has its perks.
Speaking of overwhelmed Targaryens, Maester Aemon provides the episode's titular line ("Kill the boy, and let the man be born!") while advising Jon Snow to basically sack up and show his fellow Nightwatchmen who's boss.
Jon again to negotiate with the Wildlings and remembering how that worked out last time (RIP, Mance Rayder), we assumed he was barking up the wrong tree.
This time, however, Jon has a powerful bargaining chip - himself. He agrees to go embark on what sounds like a suicide mission in order to the Wildlings prove that the Night's Watch will make good on its word.
Sometimes we really think you know nothing, Jon Snow.
After that, we get a little glimpse into Ramsay Bolton's sex life (Surprise! It's bloody!) before the most terrifying rehearsal dinner in history.
"You shouldn't be here" Theon/Reek warns Sansa, and for the first time since he declared his love for Ned Stark in Season 1, we think he's actually got the right idea.
Fortunately, the eldest Stark daughter still has Brienne in her corner, and after last night's glimpse of what her fiance has in store, we're guessing she'll need all the help she can get.
Back at the Wall, Stannis proves once again that he's both shrewder and more sensitive than he let on in previous seasons by recognizing the importance of Sam's studies and predicting the Boltons' military strategy
Meanwhile, things are looking grim in Meereen, but on the plus side Grey Worm's brush with death got him to finally acknowledge his feelings for Missandei
Speaking of unexpected love connections, Dany is apparently planning to marry Hizdar zo Loraq for the purposes of showing her loyalty to the Meereenese, which we're opposed to for a number of reasons.
Aside from the fact that he clearly lacks the testicular fortitude to be a worthy companion to Dany, we still haven't memorized the 18 names the Khaleesi already goes by. If she adds a new one, we just give up.
For a while there, it looked as though we wouldn't see Tyrion at all last night.
When he showed up with just a few minutes left in the episode, we figured he would just do some more griping about the lack of wine (Has there ever been a more accurate self-description than I am a person who "I am a person who drinks"?) and take a quiet tour of the Valyrian reunions with Jorah.
Instead, we got one of the more thrilling sequences this season has offered thus far.
One of the things that sets Game of Thrones apart from just about any other show in the history of television is the fact that any character can go at any time.
That said, we were fairly certain we weren't gonna lose Tyrion last night, but that didn't make his run-in with Stonemen any less terrifying.
Following that white-knuckle encounter, we learned that Jorah has been afflicted by the same disease that created those monsters, and declined to tell Tyrion about it.
Looks like Tyrion may soon have bigger problems than his lack of quality vino.
