Mikey Wax Releases #LoveWins: Hear the Gay Marriage Tribute Jul 13th 2015, 19:30, by Free Britney Up and coming pop star Mikey Wax has penned a powerful new track entitled "Love Always Wins (#LoveWins)," featuring Prophecy. As the title implies, the single was written in honor of the Supreme Court's landmark ruling legalizing gay marriage last month. Wax unveiled the tribute, a trumpet-laden track with anthemic lyrics that recognizes the country’s progressive strides, this morning. “Want to live how I feel / want to love what is real / and I don’t need to explain,” Mikey sings, paying homage to the emotional fight. “Yeah, we’re all beating hearts deep within / and love, love always wins.” “My best friend is gay,” reads the track's lyric video. “His words of hope and happiness after the Supreme Court ruling inspired this song." "Despite race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, love always wins.” Expect to hear a lot more from Mikey Wax in the coming years, and as far as this song goes, it will soon receive a major, high-profile boost. "Love Always Wins (#LoveWins)" is expected to appear in the upcoming promos for E!’s I Am Cait, Caitlyn Jenner's new reality show.
