Fifty Shades of Grey Release Date: Announced! Jun 27th 2013, 18:04 If you've been quivering with anticipation to see your favorite dirty, sexy book realized on the big screen ... you're going to have to wait a little while longer. But at least you have an actual date to look forward to now! That's right, the release date is set for August 1, 2014. We just learned that Sam Taylor-Johnson would direct, but apart from that, the film that sought to cash in on last year's insane hype is coming along rather slowly. Still no word on the dueling million dollar questions of who will play Christian or who will play Anastasia in the most talked-about roles in the industry. Who can you see as the leads?
