The New Yorker Outs Burt and Ernie! Jun 28th 2013, 16:10, by Hilton Hater It's always been assumed, but The New Yorker went ahead and stuck its nose in Sesame Street's business today... ... by outing Burt and Ernie as a gay couple! In the wake of the Supreme Court shooting down both DOMA and Prop 8 this week, the magazine's latest issue places these two puppets on the cover and says they are enjoying a "moment of joy." "It's amazing to witness how attitudes on gay rights have evolved in my lifetime," said Jack Hunter, the artist behind this image, adding via Tumblr, continued: "This is great for our kids, a moment we can all celebrate."
